The Civic exhibition.
Today I visited the Sam shendi mother and child exhibition at the civic gallery in Barnsley. This visit was part of our project as we're working closely with this exhibition.
I really didn't have high expectations of these sculptures through seeing them in photographs but when I finally saw them in the flesh I completely changed my mind. The colours where so bright and all the pieces spoke out to me and told a different story. Colour psychology is a massive part of these pieces which really appealed to me and the pathway I'm wanting to go down.
Looking at the sculptures I could see a sort of nativity in them with the simplicity and block colours. I really loved this exhibition and it gave me so many new ideas to work off
