FMP (6/5/16)
Today I started some artist research on an artist names Cy Twombly. I really like how I have recreated this work and I think I've managed to copy it well. I really love this style of art and the naivety to it. I love all the random scribbles and splashed of colour on such a nude/plain background. My favourite part is the random letters, doodles and shapes throughout the art which is what I tried to replicate. His art is very messy and all over the place but I feel that the subtle backgrounds neutralises it and makes it seem simpler. I'm hoping to look closer into twomblys art throughout the project and find out if any of his doodles and symbols actually mean anything in his art. I will be using his doodles as insperation for my main piece and I am hoping to try and add some similar small details to my final piece. It reminds me a lot of what I am wanting to do with the lines and oil pastels.
