21/03

Today I have worked on creating some samples on small pieces of mdf. I've created these tiny experimental pieces based on peeling paint. I've created 5 different pieces using different mediums
The first piece I created was using multiple layers of gouache. I dried the layers straight away using a heat gun to form cracks on the surface the underlying colour then showed through the cracks.
The second piece I used pva glue mixed with ink. This meant that the layer of colour one dried could be easily peeled and played around with.
Thirdly I did a piece using a layer of paper and painting over that with acrylic I then ripped the paper to show the underlying colour.
Fourth I decided to experiment using the puff binder. I then covered the layer of puff binder in oil pastel to add another colour.
Finally I just created a piece using acrylic paint layered with oil pastel.
I then decided to quiz my classmates on their favourite experimental piece and also the piece they thought resembled peeled paint the most. Most voted for the layered gouache piece.
The least favourite was the puff binder piece.
Today I also experimented in my sketchbook using puff binder. I used it on material, wood, cardboard and paper. Both coloured and plain puff binder was used.
