Easter holiday work FMP (26/3/16)

Here I have recreated a image I took in York town of some old looking blue buildings. Instead of just creating this with paint I decided to incorporate more materials such as card, paper and tissue paper. This just added an extra texture and height to the piece and I really liked the final outcome.

Easter holiday work FMP (24/3/16)

Today I created a piece of art using acrylic paints spatulars, paint brushes string and a needle. With This piece of art I was highly inspired by an artist I discoverd named; Anne Lauren Djaballah. From looking at her art and researching her more i developed an idea on how she creates her art work and tried using the techniques and skills I could see in her work.
Her art work.
Although her drawings are landscapes and the piece I created wasn't I still want to use the exiting thread like look and stitching in my final piece.

Easter holiday work FMP (21/3/16)

Here is all the images that I took in York, i have finally got them all printed on good quality paper which i have then stuck in my sketchbook and annotated. I have hole punched and grouped together the images using thread. This sketchbook page includes 4/5 booklets of images in which i have taken. I'm happy with this primary research because i feel that i have a good set of good quality pictures to work off. All these images are of buildings and structures but i am also hoping to take some pictures closer up of more textured buildings/ things such as moss, mould, rust, bricks and decay.

Easter Holiday work FMP (19/3/16) (20/3/16)

Today I started painting an image I had printed out. The photograph i was copying is one that I took in York. To create this piece I used acrylic paint a selection of pallet knifes and paintbrushes. I used pallet knifes because I was wanting to create some texture and height by layering the paint i was using,
I do like the final outcome however it does look a bit messy. I'm going to fill the rest of this sketchbook page with similar paintings copying other images i have photographed in York. (19/3/16)

Here the final page which is near enough completed. This page is a build up of my own art work based on images i have taken in York again. I have created this whole page using Acrylic paint, Palette knifes, paint pens, paint brushes and also materials such as paper. The techniques i have used on this page is simply layering of thick paint over and over creating a textured effect. (20/3/16)

Studio work FMP (17/3/16)

Today in the studio I focused a lot on creating some textures and experimenting by making a sample piece of art on a stretched board. I used different techniques in order to decide on some that I like the most, I used objects to imprint into thick paint, scratched into paint and used different types of pallete knives and spatulars to layer paint.
then went on to produce a piece of experimental work in my sketchbook similar to the one on the stretched board but using only the techniques I enjoyed.

Studio work FMP (16/3/16)

Today I continued with what I was doing the last part of yesterday which is cutting out images I printed out.
I then hole punched these images and binded them together with string.
I thought it would be a good idea to create a whole sketchbook page based on my visit to York gallery because I got such good images whilst there.
For the background of the page I used the scrap cuts of paper from the pictures I cut out. I then collaged them together for a background. I was happy with the outcome of this page because of all the images on it ; I needed to add some information on the artists however. Tommorow I plan to write more about the galleries in my sketchbook and my favourite artists I saw there.

Studio work FMP (15/3/16)

Today I decided to do some research.
I wanted to finish the project proposal that needed handing in and decide on what books, websites and galleries I wanted to look at throughout this project. This took a lot of planning because I wanted to ensure I collected all the information I possibly needed.
I went to the learning curve and took out quite a few books from the library I wanted to make sure that I had a range that could help me throughout the project.
I thought deeply into where I wanted to go with the project and decided I wanted to gather books on texture and abstract expressionism and also books on buildings and artists. I was happy with the books I got and I picked up a book on Jackson pollock and a book on Abstract expressionism. I also got a book on buildings and a few on different artists such as moet.
The rest of the day I just looked through the books collecting information and also i completed my project proposal ready to hand in. I had to research into how to Harvard reference websites and books for my proposal. The final part of the day I pasted all the pictures I took in York art museum into word documents and I printed them out. I then cut them all out ready for what I was wanting to do the next day.

Other images from galleries in York FMP 12/3/16

York Galleries ( York art Gallery ) FMP 12/3/16

I also visited the York art gallery which I loved. There was so much to do and see and so much inspiration all around me. I took loads of pictures so here are the few that inspired me the most.

Along the left hand side of this page i have posted the images from the York Art gallery which i thought related best to my FMP. As you can probably see all these images i have either chosen because of the amount of texture and style used to create the piece or because of buildings that are present in the picture.
I wanted to find the pieces which i thought where the most relevant to my project and the images i think i can use to create my own similar pieces.
