York galleries (Whitewall) research FMP 12/3/16

Today i took a trip to York. I decided to go to York so I could get some inspiration from all the galleries and beautiful old buildings that are there. Because I have decided focus on buildings for my FMP I thought this would be the perfect place to go.

The first place I went was a gallery called the white wall. This was a small gallery but  I loved it, it includes lots of paintings where the artists used a lot of texture which is what I am interested in, here are some of the images from there. -

This painting was one of my favourites from the gallery because of the use of texture. I like the thick paint on the flower petals and the large brush strokes. I love the colours used and the simplicity of it.

This painting was my favourite that I found in this gallery. I thought that it linked perfectly with the ideas i had for my FMP and I loved the use of texture in it. The buildings are very abstract yet still detailed and I really like the style of painting.

Finally here are 2 more images from this gallery which caught my eye, The first image with the buildings made me think a lot about the FMP we had been set and I was really interested in the buildings painted and the technique used to achieve it. I love the blending of the colours and the effortless feel to the painting.
The second image I liked because of how abstract it was. It really made me think of my style of art work and the texture involved.
