FMP (22-25/4/16) weekend work

Over the weekend I have created a few pieces in my sketchbook looking closely into textures and collaging to create building like paintings. I ripped paper from magazines, newspapers and anything else I could find to try and create some development pieces I could work from for my final piece. I created a piece which I am really happy with that is supposed to be a boat on water with buildings in the background. I developed this idea from a picture I took in York. I created this piece with collaged paper, acrylic paints and inks/ all using a pallete knife.
I then went on to develope ideas on collaging with acrylic paint. I wanted to text collaging with paint over the top of it and also collaging over paints, I did this by doing some small samples in my sketchbook and I soon realised that I liked both ideas a lot.
I created some smaller scale buildings in my sketchbook to practice collaging more and painting over it to make it look even more like buildings I really love the bright colours however after doing this for a while I have realised its a bit too much collaging for me and I want to practice with more mixed mediums.
