I was a bit nervous to start because I didn't want to jump in too quickly and make any decisions I hadn't planned yet but I decided to just to start the bottom layer with collage and paint. I basically stripped bits of magazine text and coated them with pva then stuck them randomly on the canvas similar to some of the smaller ones I had created. I then let it dry and painted over it with an off white / creme coloured paint. I only wanted streaks of paint to carry on my abstract style and it will be painted on and changed throughout. But this is the base layer and the beginning of my final piece.
